There’s a touching memorial over at Corpus Christi Fire Station 14, for their fallen station dog. An inflatable dog greets people driving by.

It’s in memory of Tailboard. Back in August, the rescue dog was put to sleep, after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Corpus Christi Fire Captain Scott Moreland tells us, some of the firefighters went to Walmart to get Christmas lights. It was there that they spotted the inflatable doppelganger.

“The dog kind of affected all of three of the shifts that work here,” Moreland said. “And I think everyone appreciated having him around. He was a little bit of a comfort on a hard day.”

People have stopped by to ask about the inflatable dog. They’ve even asked firefighters how they’ve been holding up, since Tailboard’s passing.
