JFS to host circus night on Thursday

LANCASTER – Fairfield County Job and Family Services will host its annual circus night Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at its 239 W. Main St. location.

The event started in 2002 and is designed to celebrate families with free entertainment. Some of this year’s fun includes the Amazing Meeker and his balloon aminals, AH-A! A Hands-on Adventure children’s museum and a smokehouse from the Pleasant Township Fire Department.

Also, Schmitt Farms will provide sheep, pigs and goats, along with games and prizes for children, and the Fairfield County Dog Shelter will provide dogs.

The evening will also include face painting. The Lancaster Police SWAT team’s urban combat vehicle will also be at the circus.

Hot dogs, popcorn, and other refreshments will be available.

Several companies are donating various items for the event. For example, the East Main Street Kroger and Walmart are each donating 800 hot dogs, McDonald’s will donate cups, orange drink, and napkins, Kohl’s Cares will donate $500 and provide volunteers for the evening.  Also, Froggy’s Sweets and More will provide 500 cookies.
