Police: Bloomington Standoff Ends With 1 In Custody

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A suspect is in custody after a SWAT team was called to a standoff situation in Bloomington Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

Bloomington Police Deputy Chief Mike Hartley says officers attempted to serve a warrant on the 9200 block of Columbus Avenue South. However, the individual refused to come out. Three other people left the residence.

A fourth person remained inside the home and was believed to be alone. Hartley says it’s not known if there were weapons inside the residence, but it’s always assumed by the police.

The SWAT operation ended shortly after 4 p.m. with the suspect coming out of the home and being taken into custody. There were no injuries in the standoff.
